A Determined Little
Chihuahua
Please read the story about Hannah.
Hi...my name is Hannah.  I am a chihuahua with no front legs....this was the way I was
born.  My first family didn't want me so I was left on a side walk outside of a bathroom
at a park in Delta Colorado.  A nice man came walking out of the bath room and
picked me up.  He thought I belonged to someone but he soon found out I was alone.
He took me to a local puppy and doggie  doctor  called The Delta Animal Clinic.  There
was a very nice lady that held me and hugged me...her name was Jody.  I really liked
her, she would give me anything I wanted!  The doggie doctor, I believe his name is
Dr. Cotton...anyways that what I heard alot of people call him, he checked me out and
said the only thing wrong with me is I don't have any front legs.
After I stayed with Jody a few days (Jody is a very busy lady...she works everyday and
has a human family to take care of too) she called another lady to come down and see
me at the doggie doctor.  I was asleep in a basket when this lady saw me.  She woke
me up to  hold and kiss me over and over.  Jody called her Vicki..I have never had so
much attention in all my short life!  Vicki is now my human mom and she tells
everyone it was love at first sight!  I now live with her...she tells me I can live with her
as long as I want too.  She tells me she loves me alot!  She is VERY MAD at my first
family for leaving me alone!  She says she better not ever find out who done that to
me!

I spend alot of time in a playpen with blankets and LOTS of stuffed toys that I can play
with and not get hurt.  I don't feel alone anymore she sat my play pen in front of her
big screen TV, so when I want to watch TV I can.  She leaves the TV on for me all
night long too.  She has other puppies and dogs too.  She will even let me play with
other  puppies but she tells me just one at a time and the play time is limited because
I use up a lot of energy and tire more quickly then other puppies.

I get to eat all I want to.  She fixes me soft puppy food and I can even have goats milk
too!  She holds me while I eat so I won't fall into my food.  She gives me vitamins
too...at first I didn't care much for the taste but now I like it.  She tells me all this will
make me strong and healthy. The other day Dr. Cotton gave me a shot...boy did I
cry...it hurt!   He told me it would protect me from harmful diseases that puppies get
so I felt better after he told me that!  It don't hurt anymore.

My human Mom tells me that I am going to get some wheels very soon!  I don't really
know what she is talking about but she tells me they will help me walk like all the
other little puppies do.   She says once I get used to the wheels I will probably GO
FAST!  Boy that sounds like fun!  She says I will have to be buckled in so I won't hurt
my self, if she could she would probably put a helmet on me too, but I don't think she
will get one..  She tells me she doesn't want me to get hurt.  She tells me I am her
baby...she thinks I am only 6 or 7 weeks old now.   I am soooo happy that she came
down to the doggie doctor that day to see me!

I am sure you will see more pictures of me in the future.....and of course my new
wheels!

Thank you for reading my story.......Hannah
Hannah is now 6 months old and happy as a lark!  I have located a
company in Maine that will be making Hannah's front wheels in the
future.  We need to wait until she has about grown her full potential
and her growth plates have fused.  Here is the link to the website that
makes wheels for handicapped animals if you would like to visit their
site.

Hannah's favorite treat is a piece of duck wrap around a piece of sweet
potato.  Everyone morning after we go outside to potty, she knows when
we come back in what her treat will be!!!
Shes So Funny!

FYI...These nutritious treats can be found at Pet Smart and Petco
